Gezeiten plot

Three different stories. The first story is about MS Brunsland's cook, Gustav, who is persuaded by his wife Elli to work ashore. While Elli blossoms after the birth of their son, Gustav languishes. In the second story, sailor's wife Lore Elvers is tired of the loveless life in the sailor's house and she boards a Dutch coaster, the captain of which is clearly over fifty. The last story concerns the first mate of the MS Brunsland, Peter, who is incited by his wife Yvonne to finally obtain his papers as captain.
