Gaman plot
To improve their lifestyle, Lucknow-based Ghulam Hussain decides to move to Bombay, leaving behind his ailing mother and wife Khairun. He arrives in Bombay and visits his good friend Lalulal Tiwari, who gives him a job as a taxi maintenance assistant. Ghulam then learns to drive and is hired as a taxi driver. Despite his best efforts, he is unable to save enough money to visit Lucknow. And Lalulal, who has lived in Bombay for years, apparently has his own problems too.
