Fraternity Row plot
"They didn't smoke grass. They didn't take the pill. They didn't do their own thing. They went to college in the Fifties. They pledged fraternities. They celebrated Hell Week. They were the buttoned-down, bottled-up generation. And sometimes they exploded."
Zac Sterling is a student eager to be accepted into one of the school's sororities. The pledges are to undergo the ritual of "hazing" led by Rodger Carter and Chuck Cherry. While Zac's intellectual friend Jennifer Harris sees the Greek system as discriminatory and elitist, he wants to fit in. However, he decides, along with a number of other pledges, to revolt against the torture that the leaders have inflicted on the new members of the association. However, the more the Promises rebel against hazing, the more punishment Chuck inflicts on them, until a joke goes too far and one of them dies.
