For My Baby plot
Daniel Orgelbrand is a Viennese stand-up comedian. He cherishes - in a normally maladjusted way - his problems with his girlfriends and parents. But he can't break free from the shadow of his sister Hannah, who died in a concentration camp at the age of seven. Daniel's guilt goes so far as to assume the identity of Hannah for his grief-stricken mother. When he falls in love with American Lilian, who apparently isn't haunted by European twentieth-century nightmares, he realizes he must get rid of Hannah. Lilian becomes pregnant, and a dramatic showdown ensues between the living and the dead.
