The friendships and loves of a Parisian foursome varying in age are followed over a period of about a year. The somewhat shy late twenties Gabriel is at the beginning of a relationship with the more extroverted Anne. His older fellow writer Adrien is seriously ill and keeps it with a teenage girl. A film about adults aging against the background of a feeling suggested in the title.
