Faya Dayi plot
In the highlands of Harar, Ethiopia, young people dream of a better life. Many chew on so-called 'Qat leaves', stimulating agricultural products that have also been used for centuries in the rituals of Sufi Muslims, but now also mainly generate money. The prospect of a border trip to Egypt offers some perspective, but the journey is expensive and fraught with danger.
