Eugénie Grandet plot
Felix Grandet is in charge of his house in Saumur where he lives with his family. His daughter Eugénie has reached the age of marriage, but any offered party is refused by the greedy Felix. His enormous fortune, which he jealously keeps secret from everyone, cannot and must not be compromised. The unexpected arrival of a cousin, a Parisian orphan, turns Eugénie's world upside down.
