And La Ciudad revolves around a group of friends in Barcelona; eight men and women in their thirties, who form a patchwork of relationships, warm enough to provide comfort in hard times and strong enough to withstand jealousy and envy. They meet in bars, restaurants and bedrooms. They are married or have 'something'. But how well do they really know each other, and do they tell each other everything? From the lonely Sofia's perspective, all her friends have great love relationships. While Mario actually suspects his wife of cheating, which prompts him to do the same. And despite a loving husband and son, Irene seeks solace in a relationship with a woman. Only the divorced teacher Tomás makes no secret of sharing the bed with 16-year-old student Ana. Sofia herself keeps her own insecurities safe; instead, she serves her friends a made-up life full of love adventures.
