Élisa plot

Immediately after leaving the correctional institution, Elisa goes to work for Mrs. Irma and then moves to Paris, where she builds a successful career. During a trip to the countryside she meets Bernard, a blind man. They both love each other, but she hides her activities from him. When he finds out what she's up to, he beats her. She kills him and ends up back in jail.
