Director Lucía Puenzo is a name I want to remember, because in terms of style the film occasionally contains beautiful moments. Especially some flashbacks or dream images. It mainly messes with the script and the structure of the film. The premise is difficult to explain and the atmosphere comes and goes in fragments. The two main characters could have been developed a little more, or at least one of them. After the film I wondered what I had just seen. Not exactly memorable, but still something with more potential. I wonder if I would like Puenzo's debut film better.

Compared to her excellent directorial debut (XXY, 2007), this is a disappointing film by Lucía Puenzo about a lesbian relationship. The protagonists do excellent acting, but the story is too messy after a good start. A disappointment.

There are a number of beautiful scenes, and the acting is strong, but unfortunately the story is quite messy (I've read it here before and it's true) so it's often not entirely clear what exactly is going on. That's a shame, especially because XXY by Lucía Puenzo, with the same leading actress Inés Efrón, is such a masterpiece compared to this one, which is certainly worth seeing.
