El Hilo Rojo plot
"The Red Cord of Destiny", or "The Red Cord of Marriage", and other variants, is an East Asian belief derived from a Chinese legend. According to this myth, the gods tie an invisible red cord around the ankles of those who are destined to meet in a certain situation or help each other in a certain way. Seven years after their fateful first meeting, Abril and Manuel meet again. Although they are both married, the attraction has grown even stronger.

The Red Hilo
Great Argentinian film. You could qualify El Hilo Rojo as a romcom, but then of the venomous and prickly kind. Because the film may have a wonderful vibe and feel summery (and sometimes damn sexy) because of the cinematography, there is a lot of drama hidden underneath.
The chemistry between Vicuna and Suárez (an incredibly beautiful actress) jumps off the screen and from the strong opening scene with the Amy Winehouse song they know how to drag you into their romance. But after the story jumps 7 years and both are married (and have children), you know that when they meet again, things can't go well for long. El Hilo Rojo sometimes feels a bit artificial and fragmented, but fortunately the ending is very successful in a bittersweet way. Because the actions of the lovebirds have consequences, and fortunately the film doesn't shy away from that.

The film managed to captivate me until the end. Where the film initially creates a pleasant, at times summery atmosphere, the film has enough fantastically portrayed dramatic moments. The dialogues and chemistry between Abril (María Eugenia Suárez) & Manuel (Benjamín Vicuña) are of a cunning and fiery level. (Both currently have a relationship in real life.) After the first hour has passed, we are confronted with the typical proverb: ''No matter how fast a lie is, the truth will catch up with it'' And we get to see what it does to the lives of their partner, and children. The film is not identical, but it is very watchable! Although films with romance may not appeal to you, I can definitely recommend this film to you!
PS What a beautiful lady María Eugenia Suárez is!

Maybe not the most original film, and sometimes a bit too much push and pull (especially from her side) but it all worked and the ending was good; the chemistry between the 2 main characters is palpable, the sex not exaggerated or artificial. Not the most profound plot, but it was a good watch.
