El Amor Brujo plot
The third film in Carlos Saura's flamenco dance trilogy opens with two drunken gypsies arranging their children's marriage. A boy watches, his face slowly changing to that of a grown man. It is Carmelo at the wedding of the now also grown children. Carmelo is in love with the bride Candela, but she loves José, the man she is going to marry. However, José is in love with Lucía. After the wedding, José goes dancing with Lucía by the campfire. Enraged that José is cheating on his beloved Candela, Carmelo kills him with a knife in an intense dance of death. After four years in prison, Carmelo returns to find that Candela is being visited by José's ghost. His goal is to break their bond and win Candela back for himself.
