El Acto en Cuestión plot
The story of the rise and fall of Argentine magician Miguel Quiroga (Carlos Roffe). From an insignificant book collector, he becomes a world-famous magician with his disappearing trick, with which he can literally make everything and everyone disappear. He found the formula for this in an obscure book about magic, which he stole from a second-hand bookshop. When he gets a contract to work at a circus, he burns the book in a fit of paranoia. The years pass and the disappearing trick does the magician no harm. But he remains concerned that a copy of his book may exist and that competition is lurking. Thus he lives in great prosperity, but with constant fear.
