Docteur Semmelweis plot

Vienna, during the harsh winter of 1846. The brilliant physician Ignaz Philipp Semmelweis, a Hungarian, is doing pioneering work in the field of infertility. He is looked down upon by his envious colleagues. He has a particularly hard time with Doctor Klein, who dismisses his experiments as nonsensical. Semmelweis finds support in Katia, a young widow with whom he develops a passionate relationship.
