Der Kindermord plot

A small village on the outskirts of Berlin. The sisters Jeanine and Steffen Menzel are missing. After a long search, the police found the bodies of the two children in a nearby bush, they were brutally murdered. Suspicion immediately falls on the parents, Andreas and Katrin Menzel, as testimonies from relatives, neighbors and friends reveal a terrible family drama. Father Andreas Menzel is addicted to alcohol and drugs and therefore suffers from delusions. Wife Katrin is driven out of the house due to the recurring quarrels. When she finally finds a man with whom she wants to start a new life, she faces a very difficult decision. But her husband in case of divorce does not want to have the children assigned to her under any circumstances. A life without her children, however, is unthinkable for Katrin.
