Der Gebieterische Ruf plot

Disappointed, beautiful young doctor Christine (Maria Holst) leaves her boyfriend, stage actor Ferdinand (Paul Hubschmid) when the latter moves to Berlin. She leaves for Vienna and takes a job in the practice of the renowned surgeon Wichmann (Rudolf Forster). Although the surgeon is much older, Christine falls in love with him. When they return home from their honeymoon, Ferdinand is admitted to Wichmann's clinic as a patient after suffering life-threatening injuries from a fall onto the scene. Christine falls in love with Ferdinand again, and when Wichmann notices this, he disappears. However, he is the only one who can perform the life-saving operation on Ferdinand.
