Der Aufstand plot

In 1953 a factory strike in East Berlin degenerated into a real popular uprising. Using archive material and scenes played, Blumenberg meticulously analyzes the causes and consequences of these legendary events. The GDR government did not take the striking workers seriously at first, after which the matter escalated. It was necessary for Russian tanks to restore order in the streets of East Berlin.
