Denn Ich Sah eine Neue Erde plot

December 1520. Martin Luther publicly burns the papal document threatening his excommunication. The papal envoy also demands the extradition of the heretic to Rome. But the Saxon elector Friedrich holds Luther a hand over his head. That same day Luther sends his friend and follower Müntzer to Zwickau, to force the reformation there. But Zwickau is also the city of oppressed weavers' companions and great poverty. For the first time, Müntzer becomes personally aware of the great social need of the population and thereby changes from Luther's supporter to his greatest opponent.
