In 1890, the shady Strindler attracts attention in a frontier town when he offers to pay handsomely for additions to his list of names. Strindler cheerfully scours saloons and farms, trying to get people to talk for a fee—but sometimes goes too far. Surrounded by the village drunkard, irascible cattle herders, and local bandits, Strindler quickly becomes entangled in his own tall tales.
