De Lullige Levensloop van een Saaie Man plot

The somewhat drab funeral director Gerald is almost out of work after the arrival of a new hospital that has significantly reduced the number of deaths in his sleepy Groningen village. His only hobby is playing the trombone in the local marching band. However, the annoying conductor, who invariably addresses him by the wrong name, wants him to stop. When Gerald accidentally hits one of the many elderly people and is caught by the conductor, his indeed miserable life takes an unexpected turn for the better.
