Das Verlangen plot

Das Verlangen tells the story of vicar Lena, who lives in a drizzly village in the Swabian-Franconian forest. The introverted woman is locked in a loveless marriage with her tyrant husband, Johannes. Lena's monotonous daily life is limited to household chores, organ playing and marital duties. The mysterious murder of a village girl shocks her from her monotonous existence. She discovers the affection and tenderness Lena longed for for Paul, the village car mechanic.
