Das Lied in Mir plot

During a stopover in Buenos Aires, the young German Maria hears a Spanish children's song, which shocks her very much. Maria has never learned Spanish and yet she recognizes this song. For almost thirty years a song has 'sleeped' in Mary. Something that doesn't fit into her memories. When Maria's father Anton finds out that she remembers a Spanish song, he immediately travels to Argentina. He instinctively wants to protect his daughter from the past. When father and daughter meet in Buenos Aires, Anton has to accept that he has never been so close to losing his daughter. Maria struggles with the dangerous truth and Anton himself struggles with his daughter's past.
