Confessions of an Opium Eater plot
"Take one daring step beyond the threshold of your own imagination."
During the Tong War of the early 19th century, Lotus is kidnapped from China and brought to the US, where it will be traded for opium. Fortunately for Lotus and some fellow inmates, they are freed by a mysterious benefactor. Not long after, Thomas DeQuincey enters Chinatown and makes contact with a trader named Chin Foon. Both men bear the sign of the moon snake, which is a sign that they work for Ling Tang, who is the mastermind behind human trafficking.
