Colditz plot

British soldier Jack Rose and the beautiful Lizzie Carter are separated by the war. Jack is imprisoned in Colditz Castle, a fortress near Leipzig. The Nazis see this medieval structure as a prison from which escape is almost impossible. A select group of flight-threatening Allied officers are locked up here. The Nazis are so wary of escapes that the number of guards exceeds that of the prisoners. However, Jack Rose and his 'escape academy', a number of specialists in tunneling, breaking open ditches and other means of escape, do everything they can to outsmart the Germans.

Friendly.

I see many complaining about a long seat. It's not a three-part miniseries for nothing. Whatever I was planning to do, I ended up seeing it in two parts. It looks very nice, has a fast pace and it never gets boring. It's annoying. A large part of the second hour is about the romance between Lizzie and Nick that could hardly captivate me. Damian Lewis is also quite disappointing here. First hour was the best, but then it's a shame that you know they aren't going to break out yet. Overall, I would have liked to see a bit more of breakout attempts. A little depth in the protagonists wouldn't have gone amiss either and I wouldn't have had a problem with it taking an hour longer.

Nothing more than a nice war drama. The film is described here as a 3-part series, but it is also sometimes broadcast in its entirety and I saw it in that form at the time (I think somewhere in the first week of May where it is normal that many war films are shown on the screen). be seen on TV). The story is quite nice and the cast also did a nice job but it doesn't really get interesting or exciting anywhere and it's more of a romantic war movie than a really gripping war drama. And I think that's a shame, but it's certainly not bad.

A decent miniseries that kept me interested for the entire runtime. Of the storylines, I found the events in Castle Colditz surrounding the escapes, the attempts to do so and life in prison more interesting than the love affairs in London, although I sometimes felt that the escape was being taken a little too lightly. At times it almost seemed like a game to both the Germans and the prisoners.

The acting was good. Damian Lewis, Tom Hardy, Sophia Myles, Laurence Fox and Jason Priestley made an excellent cast. I loved the death of Willis, who earlier in the film talked about his upbringing by his father who wanted him to be the best always and everywhere. The liberation was therefore not good enough for him, he had to and would escape.
