Ciske - Ein Kind Braucht Liebe plot

The story is set in the 1950s and is told from the point of view of teacher Bruis. It is about Cis Vrijmoet, a street boy who never sees his father because he is at sea and who is neglected by his mother. Time and again Ciske is expelled from school, only teacher Bruis really knows how to get through to Ciske and keep him under his thumb. In a fit of anger, Ciske kills his mother with a knife and is sent to a penitentiary.
