Christmas Comes Home to Canaan plot
Bobber, Daniel's son, is hit by a car. He undergoes some dangerous orthopedic surgeries and needs physical therapy for months. Rodney, Daniel's father, took Daniel in and raised him as if he were his own son. Now a well-known writer, Rodney offers Daniel and Bobber a trip to San Francisco so Bobber can have surgery there at his expense. In San Francisco, Daniel meets Briony, a specialist working on Bobber's recovery. As Bobber's recovery progresses, Briony comes to Canaan to celebrate Christmas with Bobber and Daniel.
