Children of Invention plot

Raymond and Tina are two Chinese children living in Boston with their overworked mother, an illegal immigrant. When mother Elaine loses all her money in a pyramid scheme, they have to leave their house. Desperately, Elaine tries everything to get money and is eventually arrested. She is afraid that the police will take her children away if she tells them that they are alone at home, so she doesn't say anything... Tina and Raymond are left to their own devices.
