After a serious accident in Lisbon, Leão (Isaach De Bankolé) is in a coma. Because it is the expressed wish of his family to bury him in his native soil, Mariana (Inês de Medeiros), a disillusioned nurse, accompanies him to the Cape Verde Islands, where Leão comes from.
