Boycott plot
"The Story of Martin Luther King and One Act of Defiance That Changed a Nation"
In the mid-1950s, racism was rampant in the United States. The disparity between whites and coloreds is even reflected in public transportation, where the two races are assigned different seats on the bus. When one woman, Rosa Parks, in the Southern village of Montgomery denounces this situation, she quickly gains the support of her community. Led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a young, charismatic pastor, the colored people form a new association to fight for equal rights. The organization also calls on the black population to stop using the bus services. What starts as a 24-hour strike quickly leads to a months-long boycott.
