Nick Condon is an American journalist based in Tokyo. When World War II breaks out, Condon publishes a controversial article about Japanese politics. The government demands that he take the article back, but when Condon learns that the authors of the article have been murdered, he refuses and investigates. Then he himself is accused of the double murder.
