Bäckerei Zürrer plot
In the center of Zurich, the old Zürrer (Emil Hegetschweiler) has a bakery. He has three grown children: businessman Richard (Walter Morath) is the eldest, followed by Trudi (Margrit Winter) and Heini (Peter Brogle) is the youngest. Heini helps his father in the bakery, but dreams of a career as a cyclist. His father not only disapproves of his sporting ambitions, but also his relationship with Gina (Ursula Kopp), the daughter of Italian greengrocer Renzo Pizzani (Ettore Cella).
