Au Royaume des Cieux plot
Young lady Maria (Suzanne Cloutier) refuses to accept the advances of a wealthy man. That costs her dearly and she ends up in a women's home. Here she is subjected to the hateful behavior of the headmistress Mrs. Chamblas (Suzy Prim). But Maria's real-life lover, Pierre (Serge Reggiani), has devised an escape plan. However, it is not without risks.
