"It only hurts 'till you laugh"

Charlene Murray is no ordinary twenty-one-year-old. Inspired by her late father's unrealized ambitions, she wants nothing more in life than to be a stand-up comedian. She's as excited as she is terrified by the fact that she's finally old enough to join a comedy club and actually try out her act in front of paying customers. So with a handful of jokes and her longtime friend Kim, she heads to the "Laughing Hyena," one of New York's faded comedy hot spots, for her first performance.
