Akashia no Michi plot

Editor Miwako Kijima hears from her aunt that her mother is ill. Her mother Kanako raised Miwako on her own, while she also made a living as a teacher. Life was hard for Kanako and as a result she was often cruel to her daughter, who cut off all contact when she went to university. Miwako decides to go back and care for her mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. This is not easy and Miwako soon realizes that she treated her mother just as badly as Kanako treated her at the time.
