A Thousand Acres plot
"Best friends. Bitter rivals. Sisters."
Larry Cook is the community leader. All farmers who need advice before making a decision come to Larry first. Feeling his end approaching, Larry decides to divide his land among his three daughters. This immediately met with resistance: his youngest daughter and apple of his eye refused the offer, presumably because as a lawyer she knows how wrong things can go with these kinds of constructions. The land is then divided between the other two daughters, but the misery is unstoppable. Tensions rise, relationships break down, painful memories spiral out of control. It comes to a bitter lawsuit and much tragedy.
