Gizella Weisz is a middle-aged office worker. One day she gets a promotion. Her boss tells her that she is getting a job in a new department of the company. She travels from one place to another and finally arrives at her new outpost. It's a secluded barn, where a half-crazed colleague is waiting for her. It is clear that Gizella was not promoted, but punished. But she doesn't realize it herself. She accepts her promotion without hesitation.
