À la Recherche du Temps Perdu plot

The year is 1900. As an only child, a young man grew up in a French family from the upper middle classes and is surrounded by the protective love of his mother and grandmother. He is extremely sensitive, suffers from insomnia, nervous attacks and asthma. However, after years he has finally been able to emotionally distance himself from Gilberte Swann, the great love of his younger years and his first great sorrow; she rejected him at the time. Now that those wounds have healed, he and his grandmother leave for Balbec by train, full of desires and dreams about love.
