A Idade Maior plot

The film is about the 22-year-old Alex who looks back on the time - the title translates as 'the great time' or the 'important time' - just before the Carnation Revolution of 1974. Portugal was then engaged in a needless war in the colonies of Angola and Mozambique. Fathers, sons and brothers had to leave the home front and returned as broken veterans. So is Alex's father.
