With Byrd at the South Pole plot
Richard E. Byrd was the first person to reach the South Pole by plane. This is an account of his expedition to Antarctica, set up in 1928. Arriving in Antarctica after a months-long boat trip, Byrd's men build a research station called 'Little America' in Antarctica. From there they conduct scientific research. Due to the inclement weather, Byrd has to wait patiently in the research station for half a year until he can take his flight to the South Pole in November 1929.
