Never before have so many secret military and diplomatic documents been made public in one fell swoop as WikiLeaks has done this year. While foreman Julian Assange is a hot topic – is he a rapist or a saint? – WikiLeaks continues undisturbed in carrying out a political agenda of its own. But, as this documentary shows, Assange's way of operating has been criticized internally, and he has even faced leaks within his own WikiLeaks. The film shows rebels of a whole new kind: fighters in a computer guerrilla that is not led from a single country. They have their command centers all over the world, in student rooms, lunchrooms and computer rooms. This year a kind of war has broken out. All this led by Julian Assange, who has a long history of resisting the establishment. Together with friends, he develops the idea for a worldwide movement to make secret government information known to the world. WikiLeaks was born.
