Documentary on James Joseph 'Whitey' Bulger Jr. (Boston, September 3, 1929), a notorious American criminal. He was first arrested for theft at the age of fourteen. After a series of bank robberies, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 1956. He spent part of it on Alcatraz Island. However, he was released after 9 years. Bulger then joined the 'Winter Hill Gang' in Boston; a gang suspected of drug trafficking, extortion, money laundering and murder. He quickly worked his way up to the top of this gang.
