From a snow-covered town in northern Michigan to the mountainous regions of Afghanistan and back again, a series of men who had been friends since childhood but changed forever by the war are followed for four years . An intimate portrait of young men who left to fight far away and of the place they left as teenagers but returned as war veterans.
