The often controversial insights into the writings of theorist Hannah Arendt (1906-1975) have lost none of their power and relevance. With her musings on, among other things, the totalitarian state and the banality of evil, she is one of the most influential thinkers of the twentieth century. In the documentary, her beliefs are explained through a multitude of source material. Photos, family films and other archive material are accompanied by the voice-over in which correspondence is read aloud. Images are interspersed with interviews with colleagues. Arendt's constant feeling of being displaced is especially prominent.
