Verdronken Land plot

The Belgian village of Doel is under threat. It must disappear in the silt of the Western Scheldt to make way for a new Antwerp harbor dock. It is not the first time that a village disappears in the Scheldt. In 1570, four villages of the Land van Saeftinge drowned as a result of the All Saints Flood. For centuries, the houses and the people have rested under the silt. Due to the effect of ebb and flow, remnants from this ancient time regularly surface. A similar fate awaits the target.
