Une Jeunesse Allemande plot
Award-winning short filmmaker Jean-Gabriel Périot switches from images of the Third Reich to German television debates in the 1960s, setting the context for the rise of the Red Army Faction (RAF), the revolutionary terror group founded by Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meinhof. Both already played a role in public life, most notably Meinhof, who worked as an interviewer for television programs. In this sociogenesis of the RAF, composed entirely of found footage, Périot shows how dissatisfaction with the prevailing balance of power and police brutality at Baader, Meinhof and many others led to radicalization.
