Überleben in Neukölln plot
Documentary by Rosa von Praunheim about a number of artists with different sexual preferences who live in the Berlin district of Neukölln. The main role is played by the artist Juwelia, whose real name is Stefan Stricker and who has been running a gallery in Neukölln's Sanderstraße for many years. Von Praunheim shows Juwelia's parties that take place every weekend, but also guides the artist to her first exhibition in New York and to her mother's grave. Praunheim's other protagonists are 89-year-old Mrs. Richter, who moved to Berlin to be with another woman, and Cuban Joaquin la Habana, who lives with another man.
