The Taking plot

American John Ford is responsible for directing dozens of westerns. For seven of his most famous western classics, he went to Monument Valley, the area on the Arizona-Utah border with unique rock formations. Swiss documentary filmmaker Alexandre O. Philippe uses Ford's seven westerns as a springboard for a film about the mythology of the West and studies how other directors have dealt with the place.
