The Second Execution of Romell Broom plot
At the Lucasville Prison in Ohio, on September 16, 2009, an inmate, Romell Broom, 53 years old, African American, is executed. He was sentenced to death in 1985 for the kidnapping, rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl. But something incredible happened: the lethal injection execution has to be aborted after two hours and 18 failed attempts. Then a legal tug-of-war begins. Can someone be executed a second time? The state of Ohio claims it does. At this stage, filmmaker Michael Verhoeven has started working on this unique story and started documenting the events. Can Romell Broom be convicted again?
