The City plot

The documentary shows the contrast between life in a small village and that in an industrialized city. First, an image of the United States before the industrial revolution is shown. Then the film moves on to the modern, chaotic, industrial and commercial city and shows the effects of this environment on family life and the education of children. He closes with a proposal for a return to a simpler life in an idyllic new city yet to be built.
