British artist and punk rocker Genesis P-Orridge (b. 1950) already caused public nuisance in the 1960s, when he began to profile himself as a human work of art and tried to attract attention with 'scandal happenings'. He was best known as the frontman of the experimental bands Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV. Together with his partner, the art teacher Lady Jaye, who died unexpectedly of heart failure in 2007, he started his 'Pandrogender manifesto' in 2000 in which he and his partner undergo a body transformation to be one in appearance and inward together.
